ABOUT USC ASCE
The ASCE chapter at USC is a student run organization that promotes the enhancement of the civil engineering student. In preparation for a successful future, ASCE serves as the link between the university and professional experience. Founded in 1924, USC ASCE is the third oldest student chapter nationally and continues to function on the organizations founding principles.

  • Chapter meetings and social events are a great way to interact with other civil engineering students.
  • Concrete canoe (it floats!), steel bridge, and other events encourage a healthy competition against UCLA and 15 other universities at the annual Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWRC).
  • Guest speakers provide opportunities to interact with and meet professionals from the civil engineering industry.
  • Both regional and national chapters award numerous scholarships.
  • Field trips to project sites and recognized landmarks provide opportunities to see the real-world applications of civil engineering.
  • Community outreach programs and conferences develop teamwork skills critical to survival and success in professional life.
  • ASCE social events are a great way to unwind after a long week of "Theory of Structures."
  • Members get free food at meetings and a complimentary USC ASCE t-shirt.
